The cabin locker configurations are maintained on the Layout worksheet.  Each cabin in the configuration has a table of locker IDs and names.   If you simply type in the ID and name of a new locker at the end of the table for that cabin, that locker identity will be picked up by the user-forms the next time you open one of them.  You can also just type over the name of any of locker entries to change its name and it will be also picked up automatically.  When you delete a locker from the cabin table you must be sure to not leave a blank cell between the first and last entry in the table.  That may mean carefully moving the entries below the one you deleted up in the table to fill the gap.
If you have already assigned inventory items to a Locker whose name or ID you are going to modify it is necessary to add the new locker name first, re-assign all items associated with the old name to the new one, then delete the old locker name from the cabin table.
Instructions follow.  If you double click on any of the screen captures below you can download the full resolution image.
Adding a Locker to a Cabin Configuration.
If you have added a storage space to a cabin on your boat, you will likely want to identify that locker in the Inventory Layout so you can record the items you place in that space.
Click on the screen capture to view at full resolutionThe first thing you may need to do is modify the layout drawing to include the new storage space.  I do that with MS PowerPoint because the Pearson 424 owner who originated the drawing did it in that application.  You could use and other drawing package available to you for this layout, so long as it can be imported into the Layout worksheet.
In the screen capture on the left I have modified the P424 Layout A drawing to include 3 lockers on Sarah that were not in the original drawing.  The lockers are the bin in the dining table, 3 baskets I've installed on the mast and a small bookcase that is mounted on the forward bulkhead in the Saloon.  These new lockers are identified by the 3 red arrows I have added to the screen capture.
Click on the screen capture to view at full resolutionNext I used the Edit/Select All menu item to select all entities in the drawing and then I used the Edit/Copy menu item (shown in the screen capture) to copy the drawing to the Clipboard.
Click on the screen capture to view at full resolutionNext I opened my Inventory workbook and deleted the old drawing from the Layout worksheet (red rectangle).
Click on the screen capture to view at full resolutionThe I used the Edit/Paste Special menu item in Excel to paste the new drawing from the Clipboard into the Layout worksheet.  In the screen capture (red rectangle) you can see I've selected the PNG format.  You can use any of the formats offered, but PNG and JPEG usually are the most compact.
Click on the screen capture to view at full resolution Now I have the new drawing in the Layout worksheet (you may have to move and resize the image), but this hasn't affected the Inventory application.  The drawing is just for reference.
Now we need to add the new lockers to the Saloon cabin table.
Click on the screen capture to view at full resolution Adding the new lockers in this case is just a matter of typing in the ID and locker names at the bottom of the table (red rectangle).  If I had added IDs for these lockers that were in the middle of the ID sequence for the cabin I would then use the mouse to select all of the cells in the table below the cabin name (include both the ID and name columns), and then soft the selection on the ID column (menu Data/Sort).  Be sure to just sort the selected area you don't want to affect the other tables in the worksheet.
Click on the screen capture to view at full resolution With the last change the Inventory has been customized for the new lockers.
I opened the Enter Form, selected the Saloon cabin and the Locker List for that cabin is shown in the screen capture.  The new lockers are now in the list (red rectangle) and can be used to record inventory items.
Renaming a Cabin Locker
If you want to rename a Locker for which you have no inventory items in the data base, then it is simply a matter of typing over the ID and/or name with the new identity.  However if you have already entered items into the database using the original locker name, that name is now part of those inventory records.  Changing the name in the cabin table will not affect those records.  Once the name in the table is changed, the existing records will not show up in any of the user forms when you select that new locker identity.  The records are still there and will show up under other selections, but if you want an accurate inventory of the renamed locker you have to modify those records to put them back into the renamed locker.
You can do this manually by selecting the Locker or Locker ID columns in the Inventory worksheet and use Edit/Replace to find and replace all instances of the old identity with the new one.
Click on the screen capture to view at full resolutionA safer method might be to use the Edit Form to change the locker identities in those records.  To do this you can first add the new locker name and/or ID to the table without modifying the existing identities.  Use the instructions above for adding and cabin locker to accomplish this.
In the screen capture on the left I have highlighted (red ellipse) the Laundry Locker in the Head table (ID 32).  I don't use this locker for laundry.  It is the principal locker where I store parts for the head and paper products (Toilet paper, towels, tissue, etc.).  So for me this locker should be named something else.
I've decided to call it "Storage Bin".
Click on the screen capture to view at full resolution First I have added a new locker to the head configuration (red ellipse).  I've called it "Storage Bin", but I've given it the same locker ID as the laundry locker, which is still in the configuration.
Click on screen capture to view at full resolutionNext I opened the Edit Form and have selected the Head cabin and the Laundry Locker.  From the drop down Inventory Item list in the upper right corner of the screen you can see I previously placed three inventory items in this locker.
Now I will change the location of these items in the inventory from the Laundry Locker to the Storage Bin
Click on screen capture to view at full resolution In this screen I have selected the Toilet Paper inventory item in the drop down list, which transfer that record to the edit section of the form.
In the center of the screen I have opened the Locker ID drop down list and selected the second occurrence of the "32" ID in the list.  I could have just as easily used the name drop down list to select the "Storage Bin" to accomplish the same thing.
After clicking on the new locker ID changing the location of the Toilet Paper to the "Storage Bin", I updated that recond by clicking the "Save Changes" button in the lower left corner of the screen.  Then I successively selected each of the three items in the "Laundry Locker" and changed their location to the "Storage Bin".
Click on screen capture to view at full resolution After all of the items have been changed to the "Storage Bin" I can check the item list in the Edit Form for the old "Laundry Locker" location and it is empty.
Click on screen capture to view at full resolution Then when I select the "Storage Bin" the item list contains all of the items that were previously listed under the "Laundry Locker"
Click on screen capture to view at full resolution Now its time to delete the "Laundry Locker" from the Layout worksheet and thus from the user forms.
In this screen I have dragged the cells in entered for the "Storage Bin" up on top of the cells for the "Laundry List".  Excel has displayed a MsgBox demanding that I confirm that I want to overwrite the old entry.  I clicked Yes and the cabin locker configuration has been updated.
Click on screen capture to view at full resolution I could have just as easily typed over the old entry and erased the new one to accomplish the same thing.
In the screen capture on the left shows the new locker configuration for the head with the "Storage Bin" instead of the "Laundry Locker".
Click on screen capture to view at full resolution And then when I open the Enter Form, set the cabin location to the Head I see that the "Storage Bin" is now part of the locker configuration and the "Laundry Locker" is not.
Removing a Cabin Locker
If you want to remove a locker from your condition it is only a matter of deleting the locker entries in the appropriate cabin table in the Layout worksheet.  If you are removing a locker presumably it never existing on your boat so no items in the inventory have been put in that locker.  If you some reason a few inventory items have been recorded as being in the locker to be removed then you will want to follow the instructions above to use the Edit Form to correct the locker for those items to the correct locker.  Then you may just go to the Layout worksheet and delete that entry.  If that entry is not at the end of the table for that cabin, be sure to move the items below it up to fill in the gap in the table.
